AWARENESS,  AVOIDANCE,  ACCEPT

Awareness:
If you are not switched on, then every situation will be an ambush attack. Try to avoid being in the victim/prey state. This will make you less likely to be attacked in the first instance. Trust your intuition, it will help you.

“Awareness is good, but without skills and ability tied to that awareness, all you have is anxiety” (Ref. 2)

Avoidance:
Can you go around the threatening group in the street? can you leave, can you choose to take an easy way out?
This should be your first option. You don’t have to seek the conflict, but if you can’t leave, then it’s another game.

Accept:
If you end up in a stressful situation/conflict, then you must accept this to do something about it. To many thoughts have been used on “oh now, this is not happening to me”. Well you don’t have time for those thoughts, you need to accept the challenge you are in quickly to do something about it.

“Denial kills you twice"

Once because you are physically unprepared at the moment of truth and might die in the incident;
Twice because you are psychologically unprepared and, even if you physically survive,
you are likely to be a psychiatric casualty when your "house of cards" collapses” (Ref. 3)
